Listening to the short wave one day I heard someone speaking in what seemed a spanish accent a whole series of numbers. I couldnt figure it out. Was it coordinates or a place holder, secret instructions? Then there are other stations never usually on the same frequency with numbers, music and sometimes just strange unaligned words followed by numbers.
So off to the internet we go, it didnt take long to find something. The phenomena has been around since the first World War from what I can find, some sources say the Cold War others say since radio was invented. Lots have tried to track these mystery stations down to limited or no success. Another one of those strange things in our really strange world. When I lived in Northern BC and was working the fire lookouts, we scanned a broad frequency from various radios. I used to hear numbers as well, interspersed with dashes and dots. I heard this every night as did others. I don’t think anyone knew where the origins where from.
thanks for the comment Odinson. Its certainly a weird phenomena. In the first video the reporter says that its since the Cold War but other info Ive found says its since there was radio.
