With recent shows such as “Leave the World Behind” and upcoming theatrical release “Civil War” I really started to think about the Former Republic of Yugoslavia (FRY) and the civil war that broke that country up.
Usually when I hear about “Predictive Programming” I kind of do an eye roll as usually some of my compatriots in the conspiracy world cherry pick examples of film and media usually years after both the event and the media being scrutinized for signs of impending doom and that somehow we are being warned.
Easy to do or say when both the media/movie/Simpsons episode and the “event” have already passed.
That was until “Leave the World Behind” came out on Netflix.
This one raised my eyebrows a bit and within some of the prepping groups I know.
The target demographic was a mainstream audience but the preppers took note and discussed. Now apparently the film was bank rolled by the Obama’s (former prez and 1st lady) which rankled some Republican types but let’s leave that as an aside. Others in the conspiracy community came forward immediately and said this was predictive programming. One of those rare instances when it’s not a decade later or necessarily cherry picked. Watch the show and see for yourself. I didn’t mind the show and found it parts of it plausible but realized early on I’m not in the target demographic. This was more to get the “normies” and probably left of centre folks thinking. Which can only be a good thing. I don’t want to give anything away but it’s worth a watch.

Now this brings us to another theatrical release movie called simply enough “Civil War”. It’s due out in spring 2024. Just in time to hit theatres when the presidential election theatrics start to kick off.
Now just the idea of another U.S. Civil War should be horrifying.
It would be a lot worse than the Yugoslav civil war, more than 12 times the population and about quadruple the amount of commonly available firearms. Wanna know how bad a U.S. Civ War 2 would be? Take a look at Rwanda, Bosnia, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Libya and now think ten times worse, more factions, more religions, more politics and more division.
You would never know who to trust in a large urban area. Smaller towns might be ok until the large urban areas organize into warlord run cantonments, winter comes in and food gets scarce. Most people have no clue.
When the lights and water goes out it’s back to 1800’s living standards. Winter will kill a lot of people, dysentery and malnutrition. Crops rotting in fields, the J.I.T. delivery model will be done for, flu will wipe out plenty when there’s no drugs at the local store and everyone’s killing and robbing for toilet paper. Better hope u.s. civil war is just a dystopian fantasy….. “suffering will be legendary, even in hell.”
Watching U.S. news (I live in Canada) during Trump’s presidency I was worried that there would be another Yugo style war stateside. The various media in Yugoslavia were amping up the division there before the war kicked off with Slovenia, which eventually went its own way first followed by Croatia, then everyone else.
The Yugoslav War would be the closest modern template for a U.S. Civil War 2. Granted it’s an imperfect analogy and the historical backgrounds are very different. But culturally, industrially and socially not that dissimilar.
The military broke up along regional and ethnic lines in most cases with a small core of the military still considering itself as part of the federal (basically Serbian) government during Slovenia’s separation and initially during Croatian separation at least for a few years. Once the JNA (Yugoslav People’s Army) were left with pretty much only Serbians and Montenegrins they started to give up the moniker of being JNA.
An actual 2nd U.S.Civil War would be a hellscape. The fighting will be messy and everything from terrorist acts to urban warfare and ambushes. There will be no civilians and military, everyone will be a target, every place a battleground. It won’t be as simple as ANTIFA and Fascists Incorporated going at it either. It’ll be a mess of motivations: political, racial, religious and some people who just want to watch the world burn and others just trying to survive.
2024 is going to be some interesting times in the U.S. with an election year and 2 geriatric presidential candidates. We’re told the U.S. is divided and the media loves to keep reminding us that it is. Let’s hope that it’s over hyped.
