You may have heard of the Freemen on Land or Sovereign movements around the world and wonder what all the fuss is about.
To keep things short I will put some links for and against throughout the article and as always you should make up your own mind what to think. Essentially these movements boil down to people who are studying the law and discovering rights and freedoms and practicing those rights and freedoms. Some push the boundaries and test those freedoms, but if you don’t test the waters how will you know?
“The System” doesn’t like people rocking the boat and pushing back and the media is coming around and scaring the rest of the sheeple into compliance. Worldwide the screws are getting put on freedom with things like SOPA and indefinite detention for so called “terrorists“, rights and freedoms are evaporating in the name of security. So it’s no wonder that these freemen and sovereign movements are cropping up. But like anything folks if it sounds to good to be true it probably is. So do your own homework and figure what works for you and what doesn’t. We still have to live most everyday life in “the system” but that doesn’t mean we need to knuckle under it.
Learn how to use it to your own advantage and help out your fellow man, and if you don’t like it work to change it. And like anything else there is no shortage of snake oil salesmen and false messiah types.
Now with that out of the way governments and other power structures are self perpetuating and seek to get more power and control, I feel there needs to be a balance. What’s wrong with sticking to a constitution and limiting government controls? It’s a big debate pro and con and will forever be ongoing. Is it about being “anti-government”? Self professed “freemen” I have spoken with would never consider themselves anti-government, that’s a trap. They are pro-freedom and it’s not about setting up a conflict but avoiding one before it even starts. It’s interesting in quite a few of the main stream media articles that they try to equate freemen and sovereignty folks with terrorist actions with the Oklahoma bombing or shooting of police officers, but if you look at it logically and crunch the numbers these folks would actually be less likely to commit acts of violence than the general population , for instance there are probably more people who were members of the 4H club or Boy Scouts that have committed acts of violence. Another notion is that there is some kind of leader, last time I checked there isn’t. These movements are not political organizations generally.
