Welcome gentle reader to another installment of this week or so in review. Thank you again for tuning in to see what the team has had in store for the last while.
1/ Stompin’ Tom Conners dies at 77.
For many Canadians and country/folk aficionados (wow that’s sure a 5 Dollar word,lol) Stompin’ Tom’s passing takes away from us a real folk hero and traveling bard. He would play in the most out of the way dingy hotels or to a packed music hall and give a hell of a good show in either. Tom passed away in his home March 6th, 2013 at aged 77. Internationally his best known song is “The Hockey Song”. Tom walked hard,played hard, and drank hard (but not to the point of stupidity) and smoked a couple of packs a day but never slowed down.
Stompin Tom was a big favorite with Kount Kreepy and I and we had many a great drunken night “stomping our feet on the wooden boards” singing songs of the land Tom loved so much. We’ll miss you Tom and see you in the next world. -EvS

3/ North Korea threatens nuclear and conventional war!
Frickin commie scum. It was just a matter of time I guess. North Korea has been pumping out the propaganda (and as we know truth is the best propaganda) as this video shows (thanks to A.F. for sending us this one). On it’s own it’s not a bad doc actually, lol. Just have to realize that it’s about causing disunity as opposed to any actual idealism. I’d love to see a counter film showing North Korean living conditions.

It won’t be the door to door confiscation…. yet. Turns out it will be by stealth, unless your in a disaster area then it will be door to door by “Private Military Contractor” goons.
5/ What the ammo manufacturers are saying.
We’ve heard about shortages, seen the prices going up and heard that the government is buying everything up. We get the word straight from the manufacturers……
6/ Congressmen Demand DHS Explain 1.6 Billion Bullets Purchase
“Congressman Leonard Lance (R-NJ) has come out and demanded that Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano explain why the Department of Homeland Security has been engaging in huge amounts of purchases of ammunition over the past year. Rep. Lance has called on Congress to get involved in ascertaining DHS’ stockpiling of ammunition which is enough to wage a 20 year plus war, which has most certainly caused a shortage in the public market.”- Tim Brown “Freedom Outpost”
Well frick yeah we’d like to know too. Why in the hell do they need 1.6 Billion rounds of ammo? Seems a bit much for yearly target practice.
On top of that Forbes Magazine (hardly a “conspiracy” rag) reports that on top of the ammo DHS (Department of Homeland Security) is buying 2,717 MRAP armored vehicles (think mine resistance armored super SUV’s). wtf? Why the hell do they need that? Maybe something to do with those “no hesitation” targets we mentioned earlier?
So when did DHS need armored cars and SWAT teams to look for green cards?
