Gun control is always about controlling people. What would-be dictatorship worth their salt would allow an armed populace?
I know allot of folks think that the “gun grabber” theory crowd has a few screws loose but it turns out they are probably right.
RT News featured an article a few days ago about gun seizures in California and about the abuses of the powers that be in enforcing laws. The “experts” say that California’s program will become the model for the rest of the country.
Interesting for a State that is pretty well bankrupt the Senate in California has approved $24 Million for a new gun confiscation program.
Like many “good ideas” once the government gets involved it seems to turn to shit pretty quickly. This is the reaction to the spat of mass shootings (problem/reaction/solution) almost always involving people on powerful mind altering medications. So in short the program is anyone that has been a convicted felon or had any history of mental illness will have their guns taken away. Sounds alright on the surface of things. But like many times the government acts its like a surgeon wearing boxing gloves and using a chainsaw to perform surgery…...clumsy, messy and dangerous. Registration will ultimately lead to confiscation. History shows that time and again, even recent history.
When property is seized by any government rightly or wrongly it is almost impossible to get that property back. How much will you spend to get a $100 dollar surplus rifle back, maybe a thousand dollar rifle? Something to think about especially when many lawyers wan’t anywhere from $1000 dollars and more just for a retainer…..
The following video shows just how ridiculous firearms classification, bureaucracy, unelected officials and poorly written laws will be the ruination of us all!
Another thing (it’s already happened) is that if someone else lives in the home that is NOT a felon or person with mental health concerns, they get their guns confiscated too!
There are myriad forms of mental illness and most pose no danger to the sufferers or the public, conversely should “convicted felons” who have done their time for non-violent offenses be lumped in the same category as rapists and murderers? If someone has done their time ie repaid their debt to society why do we keep punishing them? For violent offenders, including predatory types like rapists and child molesters it’s understandable. As for everyone else…..
It’s easy to ignore the marginalized especially when it’s not you. But to become one of the “marginalized” it can happen with the stroke of a pen or keyboard. A simple clerical error and wham you get swat teamed. Maybe time to start speaking truth to power, demand clear and concise laws and legislation where the common Jane and Joe can read and understand it. We shouldn’t need a team of lawyers to understand our rights.

Mental health has a stigma and it’s that stigma that creates fear and mistrust. So those who suffer from varying degrees of mental illness and seek treatment get punished? Are they’re rights not just as important? Again we need to worry about the extremes, ie the Hannibal Lecters and criminally insane types or those with suicidal or homicidal tendencies (which are really about 1 percent of all mental health concerns). Mrs.Smith who’s been feeling a little sad (and talked to a grief counselor) that her father has died and her kids gone to college hardly warrants a swat team kicking in the door and taking away her shotgun! This is what can happen now in California. And apparently coming to a state near you!
On another note just before publishing this article it turns out Erik Prince (founder of Blackwater) admitted recently that his company Blackwater has CIA past (through court documents). Kind of puts the whole New Orleans/Katrina gun grabs in perspective!
I’ll try to leave off on a positive note though. Some states are stepping up against the gun grab mania as this article on Idaho’s recent decision outlines. Thanks for tuning in. -EvS
