I have come to the idea (” well jeez about time you pulled your head out of your ass” some might say) that our votes don’t count.
Hardly earth shattering news but for me it finally clinches that nagging doubt I have always had. Having said that though I still believe in local, municipal, town politics and believe that on the micro scale of the political world one person’s vote DOES COUNT.
On the bigger level such as State, Province, Federal, Nation wide level it doesnt mean shite. For instance in the EU some state can make a law and it becomes law in all the other member states.
Take the Irish vote of late. The people of Ireland voted NO on the Treaty of Lisbon in which the member states cede most of their sovereignty to the EU as a whole. This was in 2008. So another vote was held in 2009 in which the vote turned to a YES, and would have kept voting until it was a yes vote anyway. So anyone voting for their EU reps do you think your voice will be heard ? The EU Parliament has its marching orders and a time table of agendas it has to meet. The voice of Joe or Jane will not be heard even if there is 100, 000 of them.
In the U.S. the Electoral College system ensures that the popular vote ( i.e. the regular folks ) doesnt mean shit as its the Electors who decide the President and Vice-President and American history is riff with candidates who should have one by popular vote but didnt get in because of the Electors. Not to mention those voting machines have already proved to be compromised.
In Canada’s Province of Ontario, the vast majority of citizens were demanding a referendum from their government before selling the publicly owned power utility. When the politicians met an angry crowd at a meeting to explain it the meeting was canceled and they went ahead and privatized it anyway. Since then costs of services went up and services went down…. sound familiar?
When you see so called different political parties continue the agenda of the previous ones regardless of promises to the contrary do you think your vote counts? IT DOESN’T. Its an agenda and these people have their marching orders. Ever wonder why Australia passes one law and then you see the same law not a few weeks later being passed in your own country?

If you haven’t heard of the Bilderberg Group look em up. These people are the “king makers” before the federal election in Canada, I received a picture from one of our researchers in the States and the caption read “take a look at your next Prime Minister”. It was a picture of our current Prime Minister who at the time was a nobody but was at the Bilderberg meeting in France 2003 ( upper left hand side in the foreground)

There is a particular item called the LOGAN ACT for the U.S. and its politicians, in a nutshell its a federal law that makes it illegal for unauthorized citizens ( ie Secretary of State and Ambassadors being the exception) to conduct foreign relations. These Bilderberg and Trilateral meetings violate this on a continual basis.
In Canada the head of CSIS ( Richard Fadden, director of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service) gave us the heads up that somethings wrong !! Canadian politicians being under foreign sway. Needless to say the politicians tried to get his head on a platter but at least he stuck to his guns and since the story has died a quite death. Its too bad really I would have loved to have seen a public inquiry but our votes dont count so it’ll never happen.
