Welcome gentle reader to another edition of The Last Week (or so) In Review. A summary of varying articles, news, opinions and happenings from our readers and contributors. Here we go…..
1/ Ferguson, MO, USA #OPFerguson
In a typical small American city a police officer shot an unarmed young man (Michael Brown-18) who was trying to give up. The local people understandably got really pissed off and took to the streets to voice their anger at the police actions. Things have been simmering in Ferguson for awhile due to police treatment of the people there and this was a final straw. Police reaction to mostly peaceful protests has been very heavy handed to say the least with police from all levels (state, county, local, regional) responding with enough military gear to outfit a combat unit.
The media conflict was evident from the start. However in this day and age “alternative” voices can be heard just as quickly as the main stream news. ANON and other activists were extremely quick to react to (and counter) disinformation put out by CNN and others. The main stream news (and the police story) was that the young man who was killed by the policeman was wanted for stealing a box of cigars and was an armed threat to the arresting officer. It came out pretty quickly that this was NOT the case. Regardless though if someone did steal a box of cigars is that cause fora summary execution? Hacktivists hacked the 911 call center and found out the police lied about how Micheal Brown was shot. We will continue to cover this through the Twitter account.
2/ #Ebola
The story that would not (or will not?) go away. This was our number one story of the previous Last Week or so In Review. It was pretty extensive for a summary so I will just add some highlights as a continuation from then:
Many “EBOLA IS HERE” scares but no known cases in the United States or Canada. Local government and media continues to reassure the public that “all is well“. Reality is that if it did hit North America in force there is very little anyone could do about it. Ironically the virus’ fast acting and high mortality rate is what saves the rest of the world from it. But have no fear citizen your government will not let a good crises go to waste! In reality though North American should be more worried about very deadly diseases that are very close at hand.
3/ WATER
Really should be everyone’s number one priority. And will continue to become a bigger concern in the very near future if not already an immediate concern for many. There was some recent news that may change in how we look at water and well to be sure many things but its still very tentative at this point.
4/ More of what your not being told
Be sure to check out our friend Popeye Drith (FederalJack.com) and “Down the Rabbit Hole” serious stuff but with humor. Great show!
Whistleblower Edward Snowden continues to reveal pieces of the puzzle. Is anyone still listening. You would if you have any brains. Apparently there is going to be a “smoking gun” reveal coming up.
619 Billion missing from U.S. government “Transparency Site”.
You cant make this shit up folks. So much for accounting in government spending. Looks like the Democrats aren’t any better at keeping their hands out of the cookie jar than the Republicans were. Last time this happened though we got 9-11. Lets hope something similar doesn’t happen. A great site here documents the entire fiscal mess from Rumsfeld here.
More leaks showing Americans just keep getting spied on. Must be some really interesting shit going on in regular peoples computers!?
ISIS- why arent they attacking the U.S. or Israel? Its a good question, apparently they are more interested in destroying Muslim infidels currently. Follow the money, who really funds these guys anyway?
5/ GUNS, Firearms and stuff
Yeah I like beer, guns and Elvis. I don’t live in a trailer park but aspire to own a double wide one day. Here’s some interesting firearms related info for our survivalist portion of this weeks article:
Really cool “transforming” handgun. Was made by MagPul ,but just a concept piece and not production. the Magpul FMG9. Thanks to Chris C. for sending us this video! See also Russian PP-90 and Ares
Thanks Mike K for sending us this one of tank skeet! From A Carlton Dry commercial featuring an Austrian SK 105.
Ever since “No Country for Old Men” I’ve always wondered if their was such a thing as a shotgun suppressor (aka the badly named silencer). Now I wonder no longer. People may worry about the legality of these (check your local laws!!) but its one of those things that are self prohibiting from the cost alone.
Well thats enough for this week, stay tuned in for other featured articles. Were pretty active on Twitter so be sure to check that out as well. Thanks again to all of our readers, contributors and Twitter followers. Cheers, EvS!
P.S. to my fellow seekers and researchers. Found this pic I thought was very illustrative…….
