Well NATO spokespeople said it would happen repeatedly back in the early part of 2001 but it would seem that yes Virginia there ARE troops (western) on the ground in Libya. In more of plausible deniability though the troops are members of MI6 the U.K.’s foreign intelligence service. Granted though the S.A.S. are troops but may not be classified as such when on loan to MI6 so in the strictest sense of the word (like lawyers splitting hairs) there are no troops on the ground….. sounds a little double speak but then again welcome to the real world of politics.
Then again it would be naive to not realize that “things change” and politics is never concrete or nor do decision makers ever stay true to their word as memories are short.

U.S. General Wesley Clark (Ret.) had already did an interview in March of 2007 (yup 4 years before NATO started nailing Libya) saying that Libya was going to be a target!
So its going to be interesting to see what happens next with the inevitable regime change in Libya.On another note maybe Gaddafi has always been out of Libya and that he is really Gene Simmons! -EvS
