Finally got this on DVD, its been out for awhile but I dont always have the time and the money to see what I want to.
Long and the short: A young boy’s family get killed by a forest troll when out camping and he later becomes a plumber with huge anger management issues. An ancient evil is released possessing a local scientist ( Robert England of Nightmare on Elm Street, V and Zombie Strippers infamy) who turns into a demon making more monsters. Jack( played by Trevor Matthews finds that his uncontrollable anger gives him the ability to fight monsters!
If you liked Army of Darkness or Dead Alive you’ll love Jack Brooks Monster Slayer.
As always Robert Englund brings alot to any horror he’s in but never upstages the hero. The effects were good fun with gore and make up/effects reminiscent of what made Evil Dead so fun. No CGI crap here! Just good ole human made effects.
Apparently there is a Jack Brooks Monster Slayer II in the works so Im looking forward to that one as well. -EvS
