Dyatlov Pass Incident

Now before the upcoming movie comes out let us explore the facts of the real incident.

The Dyatlov Pass Incident occurred one unfortunate winter in Russia 1959. A group of  nine skiers came to a mysterious yet gruesome ending that is still a mystery today. Recent archive releases from the former U.S.S.R. raise even more questions with missing evidence and redacted files. If there’s is nothing to hide from something that happened over a half century ago why the blacked out parts and missing evidence?

I’ll try to keep it simple as others have done painstaking research into this incident. Here’s what we

know:

(at right the last picture taken by the group)

Kholat Syakhl (Холат-Сяхыл) is actual name of the place where this occurred the “Dyatlov” comes from the name of the group leader Igor Dyatlov

There were originally 10 members of the party but one got sick suddenly and had to cancel. They were all experienced skiers and had vast experience in hiking and outdoor survival.

The name from the local language (Mansi) literally means “Mountain of the Dead”– in the local legend nine warriors had been found dead  by friends after having gone missing during a hunting trip. Also in the legends none showed any signs of violence.

The nine skiers involved in the Dyatlov Pass Incident showed no outward signs of violence either.

At some point the party ran for their lives from the tent. 4 die. The 5 initial survivors return, take some clothes from the dead and are found dead later.

(At right the gravestone of the party)

On February 1st the group made camp, something forced them to leave their camp. They had left the tent without shoes and left behind knives and axes. But not the camera. Of note the tent was torn from the inside! They all wound up dead, had died at different times over a short period and with various injuries such as crushed ribs, skulls, burns and one even had a missing tongue. But no external signs of violence and not what are called “defensive wounds”. 5 of the party seem to have died later after the initial 4. This was after making a survival den away from the original site.

The party’s footprints were found but no other footprints.  The clothing on the victims was found to be radioactive.

So what killed them? Some skeptics think they have the answers: (note over the years other deaths have occurred in the same area, all under strange circumstances. The government had even banned flights over the area at various times following these incidents,in some cases for up to 3 years!).

Avalanche nope sorry footprints were still frozen in the snow, avalanches bury that stuff.

Special Forces- some say the party saw something the shouldn’t have. Yeah sorry don’t buy it. The Spetnaz would have rounded them up and nobody would have found any bodies.

Mansi Natives – unlikely, they wouldn’t have left any valuables behind and besides where’s the footprints huh?

Animalsunlikely and autopsy results do not “bear” that out.

Aliens – I leave that one to those who know about that kind of thing

Conclusion- from the official files:  that the party had died from ” a compelling unknown force”- one of the officials (Boris Vozrozhdenny) in regard to the autopsy’s compared it to a car crash but could not explain the lack of soft tissue damage.

What I think happened.  The skiers found an old burial mound and an ancient Mansi

artifact, despite one of the female members saying “I don’t like this place Yuri let‘s leave….” foolishly they bring the evil artifact back to the tent anyway where someone says “better not to mess with that” at which point the joker playing around with the artifact turns around with completely black eyes and says ” I WILL EAT YOUR SOULS” at which point the tent got torn open and all hell broke loose. No, but really who frickin knows……

I would love to see Ghost Hunters or that fucking Josh Gates with a total of NINE people (including camera and sound guys, etc) go up their and check that shit out! Maybe then we can get some real “found footage”. LMAO. Regardless this one is up on my “ok thats fucked up” list of incidents. -EvS

One of the better sites I could find with in-depth investigation and details
