Welcome to another addition of this week or so in review.

The following is a collection of the last week or so’s articles gathered from the blog, facebook, twitter feed and participation on other social media. This week or so also features additional commentary not necessarily found when the articles were first put out. Starting to see some more participation on the fb site from our readers which is fantastic. Thanks to those who submitted articles and features. -EvS

(at left map marked up with hit zones taken from the newest Batman Film)

1/ Darren Brown, The Experiment,Channel 4,shows us that programmed assassins are possible (ie Sirhan B Sirhan and other alleged MK Ultra victims). So what was once considered just a “conspiracy theory” has been proven out by a “debunker”.

2/ FBI report shows more people killed by hammers than rifles each year.
This report is in reference to the ongoing debate Stateside and the main stream media ramp up to ban semi automatic rifles.
One of our readers also posted Alex Jones vs Piers Morgan on CNN. (Piers is very anti gun by the way).

3/ Further information courtesy of George Freund on the Conspiracy Cafe on the Aurora shootings:
“Something happened over the last few days. The world of CONSPIRACY and the world of managed news collided. It was not a MAJOR story. In fact it garnered very little attention. What happened is the movie prop of Gotham City in the Batman film received center stage. In this circle the image of Sandy Hook on the map with the corresponding 28 red marks for each victim by age, gender and position was a leading issue. Another individual observed the name of the next target by STRIKE ZONE 2. It corresponds by name and lay of the land with a real place the Narrows. Local police have placed the school under extremely close scrutiny. The school board closed it. This should be the talk of the national media, but it isn’t. They can’t tell you the map may well be the work of a serial massacre ring or even imply it. I can” – Do check out the site, George is really tracking this story down and bringing out some very surprising details. The information is serious enough that the Sheriff’s Department in Narrow, VA, USA closed one of the schools! -EvS

4/ Dean Hartwell (from the Dean Hartwell Perspective) featured article on the blog entitledWe Have Lost the Battle for 9/11 Truth but We Will Win the War”. Thanks Dean for an interesting perspective on 9-11.

5/ Brother Kirk, past comrade in arms and veteran sent us a timely article on hotel security. Turns out with a simple electronic device about the size of a permanent marker someone can easily defeat any hotel security lock! Good to know for any of us who travels quite a bit. Ive added video below of the report. Just a cursory search on the net shows gazillions of ways to pick locks and no shortage of people who will show you how to do it.

7/ Still not seeing an anti-gun agenda?
Gunmaker Accuses Bank Of America Of Freezing Its Accounts

The Huffington Post  |  By Posted:   |  Updated: 01/08/2013 2:54 pm EST
“An American gunmaker says Bank of America is holding his money hostage.
Joe Sirochman, owner of American Spirit Arms, recently claimed in a Facebook post that Bank of America froze his company’s accounts, CNSNews reported Monday. And Sirochman says the reason is the nature of his business.
The gun manufacturer makes arms and components based on platforms for the AR-14, M-16 and other military-style assault weapons and, like its competitors, saw a huge spike in sales in the wake of the Newtown shooting — 500 percent over the past two weeks, according to Sirochman. Bank of America, who has been the company’s bank for roughly 10 years, is now holding the sales deposits “for further review,” according to Sirochman’s post.
“I finally got a Manager in the right department that told me the reason that the deposits were on hold for FURTHER REVIEW …HER EXACT WORDS WERE … ’WE BELIEVE YOU SHOULD NOT BE SELLING GUNS and PARTS ON THE INTERNET ‘ [sic],” Sirochman wrote.”

Nanotechnology: Panacea or Pandora’s Box?

Please fill in the blanks below to register for the meeting.

Meeting Description:

The lid has been lifted on the Pandora’s box that is nanotechnology—these particles are regularly added to our food, clothing, and personal care products, despite very little being known about their impact on our health or environment.

In “Pandora’s Boxes,” in the January/February issue of Orion, writer Heather Millar visits a team of scientists at Duke that is studying the implications of the blind rush into the use of this new technology.

She writes:

“The use of man-made nanoparticles has spread into almost every area of our lives: food, clothing, medicine, shampoo, toothpaste, sunscreen, and thousands of other products. Regulatory structures, both here and abroad, are completely unprepared for this onslaught of nanoproducts, because nanoparticles don’t fit into traditional regulatory categories.”

What are the implications for human and environmental health? What key questions are industry and government failing to ask about this new technology?

On January 15, at 4 p.m. Eastern/1 p.m. Pacific, you’re invited to explore the implications with Millar and a panel of experts, during Orion’s next live web event.

As usual, the event is free and open to all, with Q & A to follow.

The phone call is free, but pre-registration is required, so please fill in the blanks below.
